About UsWhat is HighRisk.org?HighRisk.org is a website set up to help you get the information you need to manage your high-risk pregnancy. If you have a special concern or need more information about a topic, HighRisk.org may have the answer you're looking for. Why do parents need HighRisk.org?One out of every eight babies born in the United States each year is born prematurely. This adds up to more than 470,000 premature infants born every year. [Source of statistic: March of Dimes.] With good information and proper management, many of these babies could have remained in utero longer, possibly even making it to full term, with great health benefits for the babies. This is a "silent" health crisis that needs to be recognized, studied, and remedied. While great strides have been made in the areas of infertility and caring for premature babies, high-risk pregnancy has been almost entirely ignored. There is very little quality information available for parents trying to manage a high-risk pregnancy. This shouldn’t be. HighRisk.org is here to help. Who is behind the scenes at HighRisk.org?HighRisk.org is the brainchild of Phyllis Davis and Harold Davis. They are parents of a 28-week preemie who had a subsequent miscarriage that shouldn't have happened. Phyllis and Harold then went looking for answers and discovered that good, concise information about high-risk pregnancy topics was really hard to find. After lots of research and working with the right high-risk medical professionals, Harold and Phyllis were able to have two more boys, both at full term, thanks to careful high-risk pregnancy management. Phyllis and Harold created HighRisk.org to give parents easy access to high-risk pregnancy information. This is the website they wish they had been able to visit when they were faced with many problems, had lots of questions, and no answers. To find out more about Harold and Phyllis and their high-risk pregnancies, take a look at their story. If you have questions about HighRisk.org, you may find the answers you're looking for in the Frequently Asked Questions section.
