Frequently Asked QuestionsWho is behind the scenes at HighRisk.org?HighRisk.org is the brainchild of Phyllis Davis and Harold Davis. They are parents of a 28-week preemie who had a subsequent miscarriage that shouldn't have happened. Phyllis and Harold then went looking for answers and discovered that good, concise information about high-risk pregnancy topics was really hard to find. After lots of research and working with the right high-risk medical professionals, Harold and Phyllis were able to have two more boys, both at full term, thanks to careful high-risk pregnancy management.
Our wonderful boys, Julian, Nicholas, and Mathew. What is HighRisk.org?Phyllis and Harold created HighRisk.org to give parents easy access to high-risk pregnancy information. This is the website they wish they had been able to visit when they were faced with many problems, had lots of questions, and no answers. To find out more about Harold and Phyllis and their high-risk pregnancies, take a look at their story. What can I find at HighRisk.org?HighRisk.org offers information about high-risk pregnancy conditions and treatments, drugs and herbs you can use during pregnancy (and those you shouldn't!), preterm labor, preemies, and many other topics. Why HighRisk.org now?Fully 12% of all babies are now born pre-term—amounting to more than 1,300 babies every day. This is a silent epidemic, called by the March of Dimes a "public health crisis." With good information and proper management, many of these babies could have remained in utero longer, possibly even making it to full term, with great health benefits for the babies. We hope that HighRisk.org will help save the lives of babies, and help prevent avoidable tragedies. HighRisk.org is here to inform expectant parents in simple, concise terms that they can understand. We hope that the information parents find at HighRisk.org will facilitate communication between doctors and nurses, and parents, and enable better decision-making by all of those involved in high-risk pregnancies. What if I have a question? If you can’t find the answer you need, feel free to contact us. If we can answer your question, we will! |
